In 1988, President Scott Lin co-founded Marketech International Corp. (MIC) together with Shin-Ming Kao. After 16 years of steady growth, MIC established a solid foundation for sustainable development and was officially listed on the Taiwan Stock Exchange in 2004.

In 2010, MIC became an important original equipment manufacturer/original design manufacturer partner of Evatec. Anticipating the trend of equipment localization, Lin initiated the Manufacturing Business Group, which has since achieved steady growth for over a decade.

Through the team’s dedication and innovation, MIC has repeatedly won prestigious supplier awards from leading international companies, attracting top technical talent and strengthening its supply chain capabilities. Under Lin’s outstanding leadership, MIC’s operations continued to deliver excellent results, with revenues of NT$34.5 billion [US$1.12 billion] in 2021 (with earnings per share of 8.24) and NT$25.1 billion [US$816 million] in 2020 (earnings per share of 4.88).

In addition, the company’s Gas Manufacturing Division, in collaboration with the Metal Industries Research & Development Centre, developed a stainless-steel hardening technology, earning the R&D 100 Award in 2022 – often referred to as the ‘Oscars of Innovation’ – a remarkable honor and a testament to Taiwan’s global competitiveness.

Passion for Technology and Talent Development

In recent years, Lin has actively pursued and invested in emerging industry opportunities, encouraging younger innovators to shape the future of technology.

For example, he founded ADAT Technology, a rising star in the fields of mixed reality (MR) and AI. Its data analytics and visualization software platform has been recognized by major international clients in aerospace, semiconductors, optoelectronics and wind power. The company is regarded as a pioneer of the first generation of the industrial metaverse, with strong growth prospects and a platform for young talent to explore new industries.

Commitment to Public Welfare and Industry-Academia Collaboration

Lin firmly believes in giving back to society. He not only provides long-term financial support to disadvantaged groups but also actively leads MIC employees in charitable activities. For instance, the company has participated in fundraising concerts organized by the Hsinchu Love Foundation to support underprivileged children in rural areas.

He also donated metaverse equipment and courses to his alma mater, Tunghai University, and launched the AIR (AI/AR) Mixed Reality Core Talent Development Program, offering scholarships to selected students as seed teaching assistants.

In addition, Lin has made significant contributions to the field of technology management. Through close collaboration with ITRI and the Chinese Society for Management of Technology, he has actively supported and sponsored academic forums and conferences, receiving recognition from the board of directors and contributing to stronger collaboration among industry, academia and research.
