The globally renowned designer has tailored a series of exclusive package options for judges, finalists and attendees.

As The CEO Magazine gears up for its highly anticipated 2024 Executive of the Year Awards in Sydney on 14 November, business excellence isn’t the only thing taking center stage. This year, attendees, judges and finalists have the opportunity to experience a fashion revolution led by none other than globally renowned designer Daniel Avakian.

Known for his innovation, precision tailoring and high-end fashion, Avakian has tailored a series of exclusive package options, specifically for The CEO Magazine’s 2024 Executive of the Year Awards. The collection is themed ‘C-suite Chic’ and, in an environment where first impressions hold significant weight, these designs are sure to impress.

“It’s incredibly rewarding when I see my clients feel confident, powerful and look stunning in their DA creation.”

“Special events like the Executive of the Year Awards are an opportunity for your personality to truly shine. And my role as a designer is to understand your unique style sensibility and bring forth the best version of your personal brand,” Avakian tells The CEO Magazine.

“It’s incredibly rewarding when I see my clients feel confident, powerful and look stunning in their DA creation, knowing that the design not only complements their personality but also helps them make a memorable statement at such significant moments.”

Designer to the stars

While celebrities like Rita Ora, Charlie Sheen and Sophie Monk have Avakian on speed dial, last year, leading executives Marcella Romero, Arriba Group CEO; Anna Dutton, The CEO Magazine Co-Founder; and Magdalena Kosior-Molloy, Holman Webb Lawyers CFO/COO got a taste of his star-power at the Executive of the Year Awards.

Kosior-Molloy was a stand-out in an edgy, double-breasted red jumpsuit with red satin lapels, wide legs and functional hip pockets. Dutton “looked great and felt powerful” in a bespoke DA monochrome look, featuring a silk velvet vest and curve-hugging, floor-length, gazar-print skirt. And Romero was the picture of understated elegance in a vibrant red slip dress elevated with a diamond gusset and thigh-high split.

“What I love about fashion is the ability to communicate through design – to take my ideas and transform them into something tangible that makes my customers feel confident and look amazing.”

Avakian, a self-made designer who’s been in the industry for more than two decades, admits that starting out, he never imagined that he’d one day be dressing celebrities or gaining international recognition through that path. And while getting on the radar of celebrity stylists has certainly boosted his career, Avakian emphasizes that, for him, it’s not just about the glamor.

“What I love about fashion is the ability to communicate through design – to take my ideas and transform them into something tangible that makes my customers feel confident and look amazing,” he says.

“That connection, where my designs complement someone’s personality and style, is what keeps me passionate about my work to this day.”

From tech to tailored

Avakian’s visionary approach extends beyond design. He’s a pioneer in using AI-powered, body-scanning technology, which has been a gamechanger for opening up new opportunities for growth and innovation.

“The purpose of integrating the 3D body-scanning technology is to make it easier for our clients to provide their measurements remotely, allowing us to accurately custom-make the garments they order,” Avakian explains.

And the technology is as simple as it is sophisticated. DA sends clients a link to an app, which can be opened on any smartphone. By following a few prompts and taking two photos – one front and one side, in tight-fitting clothing like activewear – clients can complete the scanning process in just minutes.

“The purpose of integrating the 3D body-scanning technology was to make it easier for our clients to provide their measurements remotely, allowing us to accurately custom-make the garments they order.”

The best part? Beyond ease, the measurements are practically perfect. “They’re more accurate than what I could do with a tape measure,” Avakian insists.

Once the scan is complete, DA receives the client’s graded avatar along with all of their precise body measurements. That data allows the team to create accurate, finished garment measurements, ensuring a perfect fit every time.

As with all of the latest and greatest innovations, it’s not lost on Avakian that he still has more work to do. “Building trust with this technology is the first step as it represents a revolutionary new shopping experience,” he says.

But once that’s accomplished, the sky’s the limit. “This technology allows us to scale our custom fashion offerings and take measurements from anywhere in the world, removing the geographic barriers that have traditionally existed in bespoke fashion,” he enthuses.

The future of fashion

While Avakian has made a name for himself over the years, creating sustainable, bespoke pieces and capsule collections for those looking to define their personal brand, he’s far from finished.

Through the highs and lows of his career, he’s learned a lot and now, Avakian is ready to put it to the test. “We’re ready to get to the next stage, which is to scale it up,” he says.

“Building trust with this technology is the first step as it represents a revolutionary new shopping experience.”

“This year’s Awards night marks our official leap from sheltered commercialization into a proper commercial environment. Stage one is complete with the body-scanning technology.

“Stage two is virtual and digital showrooms with no stock, just iPads where customers can get a feel for the fabric, look at hundreds of designs and get orders custom made with the help of retail staff.

“This,” he says, “is the future of fashion.”
