Transition point

The Philippines is at a crucial moment in its energy transition, with renewables emerging as one of the country’s most pressing priorities. The archipelagic nation has pledged to cut greenhouse gas emissions by 75 percent by 2030, coinciding with its plan to raise renewables’ share in its energy mix to 35 percent by 2030 and 50 percent by 2040.

But while the intention is clearly there, the nous is still lacking, according to LFJOY Global Consultancy Solutions CEO Wei ‘Joy’ Zhao.
